Winlink is a messaging system with services that include email with attachments, position reporting, weather bulletins, emergency relief communications, and message relay. WinLink with it’s Hybrid Network ability has a central role in Emergency Communications as it allows interconnected messages not only within the internet but also with radios on HF, UHF and VHF. WinLink is not only for emergencies and may be used by licensed Amateurs for normal emails and communications.
WinLink requires a TNC or Terminal Node Controller.
There are two methods for TNC, Software or Hardware.
Perhaps your radio as a TNC built in.
Most of us will likely use Software.
Andrei,Kopanchuk UZ7HO provides a free software TNC called soundmodem on his website at http://uz7.ho.ua/packetradio.htm
Below is a link to a WinLink introduction provided by Phil Sherrods.

WinLink Express also called RMS Express is the preferred WinLink radio email client because it supports all new system features, and it is the only client supporting the Winlink Hybrid Network for email delivery with or without the internet.
The FREE WinLink Express program can be downloaded from the website below.
